Blanks and paddle heads

Anyone know if body blanks and necks with paddle headstocks are available for short-scale basses? Like, can I get a mahogany blank and a neck with a paddle head in 30" flavor?

I emailed W but I'm impatient. I know calling them is the general answer, but I'm not ready to place any orders so I'd rather not waste their time.

Body blanks are agnostic as to scale (they're blank and so are uncommitted), but it looks like all the necks are 34" scale, including the paddle head, at least according to their "neck builder". I tried several styles, and none of them gave me a choice as to scale length. Then if you look at the "in stock" necks, there's no filter for scale, which leads me to believe they aren't set up for anything but a 34" part. But, it's worth a call. It would probably be a fast question, so if you have long distance charge concerns, I wouldn't worry about them. You'll be in and out in less than a minute.

I wasn't worried about long distance, just wasting their time. I thought the blanks would be different as I figured the neck pocket on the short-scales to be different.

Anyways, Bob@Warmoth got back to me promptly and said they can do blanks for 30" basses but not paddle heads yet.

You didn't happen to ask if they were tooling up a short scale P bass body did you?  :toothy11: (I need one to go with the 32" J bass.)

I suppose I could make my own from a blank. Hmmm.....

Nah I have something else in mind. Might have to make it a DIY project though.
