Well, that's quite nice.

Redwood is awesome! Rare to find on guitars, but it is awesome!

Not to distract from the awesome guitar in this thread, but here is a Redwood Flame Top that Warmoth did a while ago–I wish they would bring back Redwood!

Thanks for posting your Redwood strat.  That is a real beauty!!!
I had never seen redwood on a guitar before I ordered this one, and I never really saw the wood all cleaned up and lookin' purdy...
I knew I had seen somebody post a redwood strat a couple weeks ago but could not come across it.  Thanks...

You are most welcome man!

I think its protected or something, really would love to see it used more!

Look forward to the progress on this SG!  :headbang:

Here it is after being polished with 2000 grit wet dry, two coats of boiled linseed oil and a round on the polishing arbor. It looks good enough to eat.  :laughing7:

:occasion14: Epic is the only word I can think of...awesome!

I cannot imagine any wood combo or finish that could be as glorious as that...Beyond that, I'm simply speechless...

F&¢^%$g beautiful (the bear, not the guitar :laughing7:)!

Seriously, that (the guitar!) is truly lovely.

Tonar,
You are a fine finishing machine!  You just got this girl a couple days ago, and look at her  :glasses9:
I too am speechless...  I really love the look of the oiled finish.  It looks all warm and cozy like she's just waiting for someone to hold her.
I have a strong feeling this geetar is going to quickly become my daily driver.  I cannot wait to get her finished.
Thanks for the good lovin' your hands gave this project :icon_thumright:  Well worth the wait...

Wow, that is a beautiful guitar Bart, the Zappa inlay is just priceless...And the walnut top is over the top... :headbang1:

A few people have asked me what became of the Zappa SG build.  I never did get the finished pics posted, so, here ya go…

Redwood Body by Attila Custom Guitars
Walnut top with Maple insert
Callaham SS ABR-1 Bridge and adjustable tailpiece
Gotoh Delta series 510 locking tuning machines
ThroBak ER-Custom MXV pickups
Hand rubbed oil finish by Tonar
Truss Rod Cover by Dangerous

This has really turned out to be a sweet little geetar!  The contours are just right and the oiled finish feels warm and soft in my hands.  Really a comfortable player!  The only part of this build that was challenging was picking the knobs.  I tried 6 different sets and finally settled on the cream top hats.  I had originally planned on splitting the pickups and adding some onboard effects similar to the Zappa Baby Snakes SG.  However, these pickups are not really right for that sound and they honestly just don’t need it.  They rock just fine all on their own...
