Black korina Strat in trans red!! OH YEAH!!!

Got this friday, which was almost a month and a half EARLY. Wasnt expecting it until august. Hey, im not complaining!!

recessed wilkerson trem route
contoured heel
transparent red

Waiting on some contoured heel neck screws before i start putting it together. Will be using my quartersawn maple/pau ferro neck with mostly black hardware, but still have some chrome in it. Have a SD STK-S2 Hot Stack for the bridge, still trying to decided on the other 2 pickups, might be leaning towards the Little '59 for the neck, not real sure yet.

Myself, I'm flabbergasted. Everybody does a natural finish on black korina since it looks so good that way, but that is a stunning piece of work.

Thanks guys!! I wish i had a better camera, cause this really doesnt do it justice at all. The grain is so three dimensional, if you look at it long enough, you get the feeling that you might fall into it!

The bridge pickup is set, the Seymour Duncan Hot Stack STK-S2. Its a black, single blade type hb pickup. The other 2 pickups im still undecided about. My mary kay strat has 3 SD Vintage Staggered lefty wound single coils, so its got the pure vintage vibe going. This one i want more chucky, thick, fat tone, but probably not full on LP tone (thats what my Custom is for). The bridge pu will have a dedicated volume w/ push pull pot for coil tapping (the black knob) and go thru the tone circuit. The other 2 pickups have their own volume, and the 5 way will (hopefully) work some coil tapping if i go with stacked hbs.

I actually struggled for about a month with this body. The other choice was a black korina SOLOIST in trans green with a black Floyd Rose trem, using the same neck i have in the pic. In the tho, i am a strat guy.
