Black accent line?

If the white accent line is maple, what's the black accent line made of?

I have the black accent line on my Warmoth V; Valentina...
It is some type of composite or fiber material.  Kinda hard to tell exactly what.  I guarantee that it is not wood.
When I was drilling the holes for the pickup rings on Valentina, the black material, what ever it was, grabbed my drill bit and snapped it in half.
This caused me to drill a random hole in my new flamed maple top.  I was most unhappy at the time. 
I did find a good luthier to do a nice repair on it.  It does not stand out, but if you look for it, it is very clear.

Yes, some kind of composite. Not wood...not drill friendly...no longer available.

That sucks because it looked cool in the showcase photos. They should replace it by using scraps of dark rosewood or some other dark wood stained black at the edges.
