Looking great!!!

What type of headstock did you get?
It's going to have the Warmoth headstock, I felt that it looked best with the body... :icon_biggrin:

Yes, that headstock looks great with Billy BO body.
Good choice!

How are you planning to wire up the guitar?
FYI on my Tom Holmes Billy Bo, all 3 knobs are
volumes (1 master, 1 for neck, 1 for bridge).
1 toggle is normal 3 way, and the other one is
tone switch (engaged, off, rolled down all the way).

That's pretty much what I had in mind, 1 master vol, 2 vol(each pup) 3 way toggle and a tone... :hello2:

How is the finish going to work?  I know you're using Danish Oil.  Is that just on the top, or the top and back?  Does it go over the binding, or does it get taped off?

I'll grain fill the back with black filler, then tape off the binding and do the oil on top and back...

when you oil the purpleheart, don't be scared; it will turn brownish, at first, later on, a bit red, and 6 months after the first coats, sand it down, drip some oil and get some 320 grit sanding paper, sand it up with the oil, and its purple-ish again.

ps: I like this project :D its very cool and unique!

Thanks for the info Orpheo, like I stated earlier, I love the way your LP turned out. And was inspired to use the purpleheart on this build... :icon_thumright:

yes, I read your comments :) but thats exactly why I posted. You haven't seen the endresult, after 6 months of sweaty, abusive playing :D the guitar looks and feels as if its been played constantly for 15 years :D its 6 months though, but still ;) the gold has started to look a bit tarnished, she doesn't shine (never did, haha), and the knobs are 'broken', really, as if she's been played alot, and thats true; I do play that guitar all the time.

In fact, I almost only play that guitar and my most recent builds. all my other guitars are lovely collections of wood, metal and dust :D I never would've thought that the more I build, the better these guitars would come out, literally! But maybe its due to the fact that I really love that megathick neck, and that the others have a thinner neck (or that the wiring isn't the way it should be, or that I used flatwound strings instead of roundwound, haha).

So what you guys think, pick up rings or no rings. I'm usually not in favor of the rings, but I kinda like the look of the rings on it?.......... :dontknow:

white rings that match the binding.
The binding is creme, and that wouldn't be an option. If I did the rings they'd be black or chrome...But thanks... :icon_biggrin:
