As my custom Strat build won't arrive till after Xmas / New year.
I bought myself a Xmas present.  :toothy10:
Just couldn't say No any longer (well it took me 4 days contemplating)

I bought this as I've been looking for a Tele and both the body and neck
Just about had all the things I like.
Plus saved a heap by both being showcase items.  :icon_thumright:

It will be my 1st Tele build. (Never owned a Tele either)  :toothy11:
Only things added is 2 x Humbucker rout & Sperzel tuner ream, So it won't take long !! 
Other than that, it was all on the Showcase.

Can you believe it having SS Frets plus the same size I usually get on my Warmoth necks.
Think these woods and finished colours match up pretty nicely too.

First Tele, eh? You're going to be very pleased. They're surprisingly comfortable and practical guitars. Stay away from the traditional hillbilly pickups and WalMart bridge, and it's a fine thing.

Mr. Page didn't seem to have any trouble making a Tele RAWK with those "hillbilly pickups" and "Walmart bridge".

I'm a true-blue Led Zeppelin fan so don't get me wrong, I really enjoy most of what they've done. But... have you ever watched him and his compatriots play live? With the exception of John Bonham, you had to wonder if any of them had ever picked up an instrument before.

When you have an unlimited studio time/money budget with some hyper-talented engineers and producers, you can accomplish all sorts of magical things eventually, even learn to play instruments you don't normally play. The Stones, The Who and other arena rock mega-bands were the same way. Great albums, pitiful live performances. Couldn't judge anything by what equipment they were using. Never have been able to figure out why anybody pays any attention to that.

On the flip side, your average country/western band sounds fantastic live, but the recordings are a waste. Not because they're poorly done, but that kind of music is sorta social, for lack of a better description. Why would you pay any attention to it by yourself? You need something going on and some people around it, like a party or a seduction. Point is, those hillbillies know better than to get onstage without knowing what they're doing and doing it well, while even big-time rockers don't seem to give a shit.

Tried Googling Walmart Bridges  :icon_scratch: all I got was picture's of road bridges & Walmart signs.
Did the same for Hillbilly Pick-up's & just got pic's of trucks like out of 'The Beverly Hillbillies'.
So :doh: you must mean don't use the cheap nasty crap.

I'm Not looking for that traditional Tele sound !!
Can get that using my VG-99 with my GK-3 guitars.

I have a choice of either 2 x P-Rails in Cream, hence the cream binding.
or some SD's in Black 59' (N) & Custom 5 (B).
Using the Gotoh Hum Tele Bridge.

Are you using a pickguard?

Was going to use a Pickguard, so depends on the pup's I use for colour of pickguard.
(Really like to use the Cream P-Rails thou)

Had a thought of the Vintage pearl (in pic's) with the Cream P-Rails & Black hardware …. But I just don't know.
As some of the white in the Vintage pearl would go with the MOP inlays & the White nut.
Which would blend with either Black or Cream Pup's.
I certainly don't think Gold or Chrome go with the Cream Pup's.

Or …  NOT use pickguard, just use Black mount ring (N) & Black hardware ….. As you see I'm Not sure yet.  :dontknow:

So I'm very open for any suggestions  :redflag:  or any thoughts.

If I could do a mock up, I would, I just don't know how thats done.

As I need to fit in 2 x small Mini switches for full control of P-Rails.
Would they fit between the Vol / Tone on the Tele control plate ?

Only thing I have or ordered are, Body, Neck & pup's stated, are on hand.

I think the aged pearl looks awesome and would be ace. Not sure if Black or nickel hardware, probably both will look as good...
