Bartering

Does Warmoth barter when it comes to in stock bodies and necks? I've had my eyes on a body and neck that have both been in the showcase for about 5 months now, without a drop in price. If I call and give an offer, will they consider it? Or do they have a set price policy?

I guess it never hurts to ask, but I'm guessing that's probably going to be a negative.

I just thought about it because I bought $70 worth of plants today, and only spend $50 because I was bartering.

I figured they would rather clear up the space and make SOME money rather than have a perfectly fine body sitting around collecting dust.

There are some employees of Warmoth on here that can answer for certain, but I would think your only real shot at doing that with them would be if you were able to physically go in, but I don't think you'll have much luck.  Not my call though, so never hurts to give it a shot.

Not to be Captain Obvious or anything but how about calling Warmoth and asking?

i don't believe so. i remember a member of this forum mentioning a while back that there was a body (carved top LP i believe...) that they REALLY wanted, but they weren't willing to go as high as warmoth wanted. it could have been that they wanted to haggle too low, or it could have been that warmoth just plain doesn't haggle. my guess is that warmoth will not, but i guess it doesn't hurt to ask

I'd wager they don't haggle. The first time they do and word gets out, they'd have to hire 12 more sales guys because the online ordering process would go out the window, and then prices would go up because of their increased overhead. If they have something they want to get rid of faster, they just drop the advertised price on it themselves.

What you're talking about is haggling, i doubt they'd do it, but it might be worth a shot.
Bartering would be if you tries to trade your car for it.

If they were going to do it, the way to go about doing it would not be talking about it here.  For obvious reasons.

Good luck.  I doubt if they will lower the price for you.  I would call, but I'm pretty sure your haggling is going to fall on deaf ears.

Maybe if you were buying 25 bodies at the same time would they give you a break, but I am seriously doubting that they will go for it for one body.

And honestly if they would, I doubt that any of their employees that chime in on the board will say anything on here.  Ever notice how calculated and somewhat vague their answers are on warmoth policy stuff?  I think they have to watch what they say on here.  Think about it, if they answer you on the board that they will take offers, everybody and their brother would be offering them less than their advertised price.
