Great! I was skeptical. But it turned out great.

Now I must finish my metal top.

Looking good.  :toothy10:

KEWL!

How do you plan on routing the neck pocket?  Or do you have the requisite metal cutting bits?  Would you be taking the metal off first, or routing the wood & metal in one shot?

Also, looking at the Soulmate page, it looks like there won't be a lot of time to get a neck in, since Doug'll be taking a hiatus from building.

Very interesting project/design. I'll look forward to seeing this one complete.

Made the top and back plates, as well as the pickup routs with a regular woodworking bit. Will rout the neck pocket the same way. May be rough on the bit but cheaper to get bits sharpened than buy new bits for a single project. Just go slow and wear protection. Makes a hell of a mess.

I'll be curious to see how this sounds when cranked, will it feedback too badly - like an ES-355 - or will it have a different feedback due to the metal top & back, like some sort of electro resonator guitar.
