Anyone ever use one of these? I'm thinking of ordering one to try because my 1x12 cube vibrates my entire room when I crank up my 18 watter. I have to completely kill the bass.

they have a big one for larger cabs:

Never tried it personally.  Couldnt you achieve a similar effect with a DIY foam pad?  It sounds cool, if but little pricey for what it is.  :dontknow:

Well you can buy foam at Home Depot for... well a whole lot less than $75.  I don't know anything about soundproofing, though, maybe the Auralex stuff is worth the upcharge.  ???

isn't most foam going to be kind of soft? the auralex thing can hold up to 300 lbs - and it's hard like a platform. I wouldn't want to put my amp on top of a pile of foam.

also i don't need the big version - the small one is $50. I don't have a stack, just a 1x12 cube

Well I got it today and it does make things sound a tiny bit nicer, but the effect isn't as dramatic as I expected. The bass from the speaker still is enough to shake the room - but I guess it's just because the room is small and my 18 watt amp is louder than satan (as Ozzy would say  :evil4: ) I feel less vibration on the floor, but it's not a huge difference. This would probably work pretty well on my deck, which is all wood and up in the air. Not sure when I'll be able to try it. I guess if I was playing on a hollow stage it would help some, but I'm not seeing a big difference in my situation. I'll probably end up returning it.

Too loud?

Hot Plate is the answer.

your trying to decouple the speaker from the floor, so um get a stand!

this works at doing that - the effect just isn't as dramatic as I expected.

I have a Weber Mini Mass, 50 watt.

But sometimes I like to turn up. I do notice that the floor doesn't vibrate nearly as much as before.
