attaching neck to body

any specific procedure to follow when attaching neck to the body so that the holes are aligned properly?

i am a bit worried that if the holes in the body and neck are not aligned properly i might widen the holes in the neck and thus render it permanently loose.

appreciate the feedback.

ps : all my guitars survived intact my trip abroad. two guitars in hand and two guitars packed!

If they mated before, they should mate now, just screw 'em in.  Maybe some pics would help?

If it's a guitar and a neck that have never met each other before, it depends.  You need to give us a more full description about the makes of the guitar and neck.
