So exicited! Did the soldering this evening, and shocking....it works! Thanks to all for answering all my silly newbie questions, couldn't have done it without you all. So it's working, and I say sort of, as now I will begin my first setup ;)  :guitarplayer2:

I also forgot felt washers for the strap pins and string tree(s) so I'll have to wait until Tuesday to get them, working doubles the next 2 days, so no time....

See, that wasn’t so hard, now was it?
So the next question is, what guitar will you build next? :icon_jokercolor:

Congratulations to a fine guitar! :occasion14:

LOL yea, already thinking about it. I really like the satin black finish, might do another tele with that, maybe all black hardware, although I'm looking around to see if I can find hardware with a brushed nickel, or weathered nickel look to it to go with it, not the usual chrome. No idea yet about pickups, maybe HH or maybe vintage single coils. This could really be addictive  :icon_biggrin:

Congrats on finishing your first build. Nice work!

And as far as your next project goes, (not that I'm partial to satin black Tele's or anything, but).....

And check out Gotoh's X-Chrome or X-Nickel for a "not the usual chrome" finish. Opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Welcome to the addiction!  :evil4:

Wow! That's sharp looking!

Thanks! Satin black bodies pop up in the showcase from time to time. Just keep looking and be ready to strike while the iron is hot, because they tend to move quickly. I missed the first one I saw, thankfully another showed up a couple of weeks later. Happy hunting!

It's a great feeling when you plug it in for the first time, and you hear the electricity humming, and then you play something ... On my last build the guitar was christened with Friend of the Devil ... What did you play first  on that fine looking piece?

Actually, if memory serves, 4th of July by Shooter Jennings was playing through my amp, so I just started strumming to it ;)

Looks way better in natural light outside....

I did a satin black Tele for someone not too long ago, and I'll tell ya - if you like black guitars, that's a great way to go. Warmoth's satin finishes are fantastic, far superior to any others I've seen. Highly recommended.

Agreed, right now I'm still waffling between satin black, and a satin Lake Placid Blue.....
