As promised!

well, the parts have all been delivered to the luthier and i'm excited to see and hear the final product... it'll be posted with pics in the strat gallery as soon as i have it.

Goodness gracious!

Those photos are hard core "Jenna Jameson" guitar porn mate. :kewlpics: :icon_thumright:

Photos when the project is finished , please?

Gosh, How do you guys keep getting quilt tops? every time I call, I get the run-a-round about "How we aren't doing quilt tops at this time". Are  you just getting them out of the showcase? I really want to go all out on a quilt top LP, with A green dye on top, clear line, and masked binding. But like I said, no quilt tops!!!!

But by the way, that is one hella-bitchin  guitar! :kewlpics: :rock-on:

I'd heard the same quilt top rumors when i called for mine, and was prepared to compromise, but when i called i was told that for laminate tops there was no such shortage.

I wonder if it just changes by week or depending on what they have in their factory at the time.

maybe it's all in the timing... i'd say keep trying and see if you get lucky.

the build is complete by the way, and i'm told that i can pick it up sunday, so many pics will be coming your collective ways early next week.

I had to make one substitution: the seth lover HB while it got great reviews, created a problem with string alignment over the poles (different spacing for the single coils vs the HB) so i went for a Seymour Duncan Alnico II trembucker... the seth lover will be going into a future LP build as a bridge/neck pair.

The shortage with quilt is in thicker pieces for things like carved tops.  Warmoth can do thin laminates no problem.

BTW, if you want to try something different, check out birdseye for a laminate.

That's a really great piece of quilt maple on there.  I have an LP Flat Top on order and I'm hoping the quilt maple top will be nice, too.  Based on the showcase models, where some tops are beautiful and some are less so, I guess it comes down to luck of the draw when ordering a custom body.  I'll be delighted if my top comes out anywhere near as nice as yours.

pics of the completed project now on display in the Strat section of the gallery on this forum!
Enjoy!
