Are you ready!?? MXR releasing ROCKMAN at Namm 2025

OMW in 3... 2... 1...

Well, not until the morning really, but looking forward to it. If you're curious about the rockman pedal, give the demo that Pete Thorne did a listen. He killed it and totally nailed the vibe with that demo.

Nice demo. Can’t help thinking 2 of these into a A/B box (clean/dist), with a delay, verb and vol pedal would make a decent fly rig

Went by both the MXR and Victory booths as well as wandered around the floor for a few hours. I will say this, NAMM has certainly organized better than it was in the past. The app is an improvement, but it still needs to be more interactive and would be great to have a chat feature so you could leave questions for the reps or for someone in CS to answer. And as usual, earplugs are required for both sanity and protection. To the reviews:

The Rockman pedal is killer. I had the X100 way back in the day and used it for quite a while. Never as part of my live rig, but as a practice amp it was awesome. I gotta say that the pedal version is very good. 1) Way more flexible than the old amps were in terms of what sounds it gets, 2) the form and fit are really well thought out, and it *should" fit on most pedalboards (those of you who cram 28 pedals on a 5 pedal platform excepted), 3) controls are laid out nicely and work well. There's a good amount of sweep through each one of them and the pedal changes drastically across the ranges. This will be on my Christmas List for sure this year.

Went by the Victory booth, since I'm looking for a little support on my V4 Sheriff that stopped working. Big thumbs up to the guys there for being cool, and getting me right in touch with someone who can help. Kudos for that guys! Also tried out the MK Clean while I was there. Wow! Very nice. That'll be on my list as a pedal platform.

As usual, the EBMM booth was a fiesta of beautiful and useful instruments. If I wasn't building, I'd have either the JP or the Rabea Massad signatures.; great instruments. And the Friedman guitars, especially the relic'ed stuff, was very nice. They're starting to make guitars with the same level of quality as their amps.

Ran into Aaron very quickly as well. Didn't have time to stop for more than a second since we were on the way to meet with a producer, but @Spud I can report that there were no hairdo malfunctions on display.

Thank you for the reviews! I think we can all be thankful Aaron's doo remains intact!!

Ya, that was the epitome of "ships passing". Literally a handshake and gone again. Oh well.....such is NAMM. :D

Nothing I saw that can be used by foot on stage live. Doesn’t matter, I’m 80% of the way there working on a patch. By next weekend, I should have it done.

Still looking for more?

"What more can this pedal do?" Well, the MXR Rockman X100 has a slew of additional features designed for advanced-level setups. For instance, you can connect an off-board switch, such as the MXR TRS Split + Tap, for foot control of the Mode selector or even send the signal of your selected mode to L/R channels. Here, you can vary the chorus levels of each side for an even more dynamic, stereo-driven sound.

OMG yep that is what I recall so sweet! Ran it for 3 minutes into return of Quilter Mach 3 glorious. Clean 2 is intoxicating with that chorus. Had no real time as my boss has arrived. Tomorrow...................

I saw a little push button. Nothing usable on stage live. Then again as I noted, 80
% of the way there.

After some time with this thing, I am preferring and really digging "Clean 2" , I am running it at the end of my pedalboard. I like my Silktone overdrive boosting MasMalo into cln 2 even better than the built in disto setting. The compression and chorus are amazing. Tried through headphones, return of Quilter Mach 3, and FRFR Carvin powered PA speaker.

Dig it
