Are you ready!?? MXR releasing ROCKMAN at Namm 2025

I just pre-ordered one so I will let you guys know! While I was on the phone,they said my enthusiasm resonated so much the put Tom Scholz on the phone with me. He upgraded my order to include a solid 18K gold chassis model!!!! He apologized for the extra weight and I said don't sweat it!

And incidentally, I didn't have a Rockman pedal. I had to get that sound the old fashioned way. I had to EARN it. LOL. I went through a bunch of cocked wah pedals....the Daredevil Atomic Cock (the old green one), the Stone Deaf PDFX-1, etc. I tried MXR and other EQ's with 800k jacked up.

The thing I found that worked the best - by far - was this:

Having control of the Q size was the key. AFAIK this is the only pedal that gives you that.

WAY, way, way back in the day I also recorded an album using an original Rockman X100 for all the guitar tones. I could dig those songs up, but I'm not sure I want to share them. It's a teenage effort, not exactly what I want to represent me these days. LOL.

I would hate to endanger any shot at rhubarb pie, but I'm on the fence about the pedal. I'll probably wait for the early adopters like yourself to render a verdict.

At any rate, it's not like anyone is leaving NAMM with one. Technically exhibitors are not allowed to sell goods from NAMM. They are just supposed to take orders. I'm sure some of that goes on, but I'm not connected enough with anyone at MXR to get one early. I will have to wait in line for one just like anyone else.

But I promise to try and get a picture of myself holding it, or at least standing next to it. LOL.

Yessir!! Work has be stuck near home on Friday, but we'll be there all day Saturday. I've started helping out with a startup doing some very interesting stuff that we'll be talking with other manufacturers about, so look for me on the Guitar floor mostly.
