Are these OK?

What's up with all the jamming-down-of-throats these days? There was a thread, I said what I thought. That's what we do here. If we are not supposed to state opinions in an internet forum, what are they for, and why do you get to say yours but I don't get to say mine? I didn't try to insult you, I just said I thought the whole idea of worrying about this stuff is lame and depressing, still do. If you buy a corvette and go back to the dealer because you find a flaw in the paint under the hood or in the trunk and demand a discount, I'd say you are unreasonable. Doesn't matter if my corvette doesn't have a paint bubble under the hood. You can still think you're being reasonable, that's fine, we can disagree, but if you were my friend in the real world I'd say the same thing to you - it's not worth stressing about. My opinion.

What's amazing is how some of you think it's ok to jam your aesthetic fan-boi opinions down everyone's throats.

I kind of feel the same way but I've concluded that opinion (unsolicited or otherwise) was just sort of standard fare for these forum.  I mean, I can't count the number of times I've read: "Great guitar, although I would never put a [fill in the blank] on it but you're not building it for me...".  Personally, I try not to do that unless someone is asking for input but the poster exposes herself/himself to potentially strong opinion anytime they create a new topic.

That said, DoubleG did ask people what they thought and some folks are more opinionated than others so you get what you get.  You know what they say, "Opinions are like..."

fanboi--Geek Term related to forum users who think a product/company/person can do no wrong.

I would just build the guitar and enjoy making music with  it; but I'm not a fancy-boy with designer socks with a designer label on the soul;  others are and they have a right to be tidy.  By the way, I think Warmoth's prices are reasonable and wouldn't categorize them as "premium" for the most part.   :dontknow:

It's simple.  You're (collectively) talking about people, not products.  There's nothing wrong with me, and it's reasonable to expect premium products for premium prices.  Talking down to people because they have different expectations is laughable.  No one's being unreasonable or rude.

On my strat the paint was chipped near the neck route, along the side.  Didn't bother me in and of itself - BUT, I can see the OP's point in the sense that if they let that through, what else got through?  I assumed it was just an isolated incident, but maybe not!  I bought another body that had a ding on the back - could've happened in shipping, but maybe not.  The fact that it happened twice concerns me, although the cosmetics do not.  If I bought a $750 LP I'd be mad, for sure!!

I, and I bet a Lamborghini is PERFECT in every way.  That's the point.  To me, that's not the point of a $200 W Strat body, but it is the point of a $750 custom piece.

100% of my money is good at the time of purchase. I expect 100% of my guitar to be perfect.
They should have at least told you up front it was.....well, not perfect.

I probably would've looked at it and thought "I'm gonna put copper shielding on that anyways"
imperfect paint under the pickguard area seems irrelevant to me.

i might just be adding fuel to the fire but what if the customer wanted to use a clear pick guard?

i would probably accept the body with no complaint but everyone has the right to complain and everyone deserves what they pay for and if a customer expects a $300 body to have paint all around and doesn't get then they should have the right to send it back, but i think complaining about it all over the internet is lame, if a person has a problem they should handle it with warmoth, i know that's not how the op intended it, they shared and others shared opinions and then discussion by people with differing opinions happened. so can we let this topic die? really.
