Anything wrong with neck screws with shanks?

Probably a dumb question, but is there anything wrong with using shank screws like these for the neck w/ contoured heel (they have 1-3/4" too)? https://www.blacksmithbolt.com/store/p/706-8-X-1-1/2-Phillips-Oval-Head-Wood-Screws-Nickel.aspx

What I've read about wood screws with shanks compared to sans shanks actually sounds good for the neck application. Warmoth's neck screws are fully threaded anyway but as I'm doing nickel hardware throughout for this new build I'd like to get nickel screws too because you know how it is.

As long as their quality made and the shank is not smaller in diameter than the threaded portion, they should be fine. Also the unthreaded shank should not be longer the the body heel's thickness...... :headbang:

Yeah I think the shank on those is too long. I know some guys here use stainless steel screws, I wonder if those would look good with a  nickel plate  :icon_scratch:
