Alpine White Velocity/Afra neck

First of all, Cagey is an absolute beast on the bench. I have not seen fret work like this in person and his drill-pressmanship is spot on. He did an immaculate job of setting up this neck and installed some nice threaded inserts along with the tuners, nut, and other items. It takes steel castanets to work on someone else's gear. Bang up, man!

I'll have some semi-professional pics up soon. I just wanted to put these up. As an aside, in pleasantly surprised with the ringing of this Warmoth pro neck. I've had the side adjusters in the past that didn't sound so alive. This one sounds pretty darn close to my 1 piece vintage modern maple jobby job!

I'm tempted to paint the headstock white, but I think I'm gonna leave it be. In really digging this body style!  I haven't had a solid colored body in a decade lol.

Your build has me thinking about a tobacco burst one with maple neck. Damnit!

I'd leave the headstock the way it is.  That Afra is gorgeous. 

FWIW, I have a plain white rear-routed Strat with EMGs (18v mod).  It just has a quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard with a 1-5/8" nut (R2).  I have a spare canary neck, wizard profile, with a macassar ebony fretboard with a 1-11/16" (R4) shelf.  It also has abalone dots, as opposed to the black dots on the plain maple neck.  Hmmmm.

That does look rather nice indeed. If you do decide to  paint the headstock I think black with a fine pinstripe of white would look the part.

Indeed.  Gonna string her up tonight and decide whether or not to swap out the pickups for those in Ms Nesbit (purple tele).  The neck is much more of a warm brown than I can see here, where it looks more golden in the pics.
