after applying the finish

this is probably a stupid question. i'm asking this because i have never done this before and wonder if i need to do this.

let us suppose i apply true oil on a warmoth body.

how do i let it rest?

in the sense that if i rest it on a chair or something some part of it is going be in contact with the chair.

is that fine?

or does the whole body needs to be "exposed" for drying/curing?

if so how do you guys do it?

and any other precautions to be taken while drying/curing? (covering from dust etc?)

You could expose it to the -30 deg weather that we are currently having up here...

Or

you could expose it to some bad 70's porn...

Or

you could expose it to yourself...  :icon_biggrin:(where'd it go?!???)

I know with my build, marko has a piece o wood using the neck holes so it stands free, and has that wood secured in a workbench..thing.. so we can work on the entire body, its at a good high level, and nothing is touching it, and its working great.

You hang it up somehow - most people take a stick of scrap wood and bolt the body onto it, then hang that up.

or i guess you can run a wire or thread through the neck bolt holes and hang it up?

the only place i can think of hanging it up in my apartment is the shower curtain rod in my bathroom!

That's exactly what I did, I hung it from a bent hanger on my shower curtain rod.

I never felt too good about shower curtain rods... they are not secured to the shower wall and the whole thing could slip off and damage your expensive paint job!

The easiest way is to bend a coat hanger, run it through one of the neck holes and hang the hanger around a nail over a door.

I had a hook in the ceiling and hung mine from that.

Remember- with Truoil, use gloves or a cloth, don't touch it with your bare hands in between coats.
