About time for something new/unique guys...

not a thin neck, more of a boat shape, not bad at all, nice finish but not of the quality of the turtles wood, 3 ply pearloid pick guard, I would compare it to a MIM, with bad pickups.
hardware looks good and stays in tune once it gets set, you will have to buy a upgrade software to get interesting with the lights, but that is like 30 clams. I think for 299 you can not go wrong when you sit down and think of the possibilities, I down loaded 5 songs and have all the parts to them. It is a nice system.

Any laminated neck on electric I've ever played has been great. Most have been neck thru except for some Inane stuff. I promise that the negative outcome described earlier isn't there. Besides we aren't talking about using some 5k output singles either. Hot humbuckers tend to go with laminated necks. Chime in only if you have experience. That helps separate speculation and BS from the truth.

I hate to be a dick, but really, its been like 2 full pages off topic and I've even hinted at it and you guys still insist on staying off topic. I have to weed through several posts just to find one even remotely related to my original post. Can an admin please delete the like 3 dozen unrelated posts? I'm sick of getting emails on the thread, so I go to check them out only to find out that it isn't even something I give a shit about. Its seriously a waste of my time, and my bandwidth.

well it seems we are ADD

Seriously though, you have a nice looking build going, and it is unfortunate that the thread has turned a bit, but the reason is there are a lot of guys here who kinda hang out here. and will discuss stuff.
but then they are what makes the forum great, there is a ton of knowledge here and asking a question will get a lot of advice. I will tell you my Guitar of the month build was only possible because of this community. We may not stay on subject, but we do try to help everyone.

and yes, even we have to start new threads because of our community ADD

Now back to your build

PS, it is Warmoth's Bandwidth

I have an unlimited plan.
So then visiting the site 50 times a day from your phone doesn't make a difference. I tend to go over my data limit every month and it doesn't help whe. Topics that I create on forums go so far off topic that I dont want to even be subscribed tothem anymore but if I unsubscribed I may miss something relevant to the topic.

Participation and monitoring on this forum is a bit of a double edged sword...

While it may annoy you with irrelevant posts on a Thread you are monitoring, and agitate your data allowance on your mobile phone,  the time you wanna know which is the best dye to apply to that mahogany body or how to do something tricky, the same guys that were meandering off topic will probably help you get the answer.

I look forward to the assembly of this guitar and the finished product. Not many Z's here (or elsewhere) so it's look will have some significance to how others think of that body shape.  :icon_thumright:

I'm tuning in to this because I love the build. But definitely the topics get off track. It's part of what makes this forum so much fun. The people here are pretty resourceful too. Siphoning through the BS is worth it. I do get what you're saying but it is what it is.

Guy I don't mean to be curt, but asking an entire forum to curtail all off-topic posts to accommodate your bandwidth plan is a bit much. It would be like asking people to refrain from posting photos because you use dial-up. Maybe invest in a bigger bandwidth plan or visit the forums from your home or something instead.

Anyway it's an interesting body shape and should stand out once done. Wouldn't bother with the EMG-X series, the Blackouts are better. Or, just stick with the regular EMGs, maybe 18v mod them which I think are better yet. The X's were pretty underwhelming.

I've actually decided to go with the emg jh series. Local guitar center got some in and they sound and look awesome. I'm not much of a blackout fan.

Alright. I got all the hardware in for the guitar including a metal input plate that is no good. Its too flat, and I cant bend i forthe life of me so I have tofind one much less durable strange enough. Still waiting on word of my finishing supplies.
