My brother wants a new bass. He has a 70s Precission but it was too big for him (we are small people). Some time ago he also bought a Mustang (short scale) and he feels right with it and it's perfec for him (he's guitar player and this is a perfect "transition" instrument for a guitar player that wants to also go en bass). But he is capricious and wants a Precision but with the Mustang scale (30") and the headstock and pickup of an old P51.
So we wnded up with this.

It has a swamp ash body, maple neck, paoferro 7.25" fingerboard, MOP dots and a Lollar pickup. Afer a quick test, everything it's going to be disassembled and painted: the neck in vintage amber, the body in Mary Kay finish.

Here it is!. It takes a looong time but it's finished. I must rebuild the body because the arm rest was so deep and it makes the bridge placement impossible (the first body it's going to be a Strat). Also there was a mistake with the neck so I must build a new one. One year for two guitars... not bad.
As I told you, it's a P51 short scale made completely from scratch. Ash body, maple neck and pao fero fingerboard. Custom made tortoiseshell scratchplate, 6190 frets (medium-thin), Hipshot Ultralite tuners and Fender bridge and covers.
Only needs a set of flatwounds and a final set-uo.
Enjoy it. Opinions?
