A new prospect.

Having gotten this far and after seeing it all together I've decided to name it: "As Time Goes By"...

Test fitting of parts and alignment.

. And as Shakspeare once said..."And the beat, it goeth on."    :headbang:

Thank you very much. I still have some things to finish up, but it's coming along fairly well I think.

Outstanding. I like that you carried the morse code sound hole theme into the pickguard.

Thanks much. I did get the elongated holes backwards on the guard, but don't tell anyone, OK.. :icon_thumright: :icon_biggrin:

I went back and took a look and it looks just fine to me. Backwards? Looks right as far as I can tell. Ship it! :icon_thumright:

Beautiful work, there. Lots of good ideas carried out well.

I haven't been to Rick's. How many stars does it get?

Thank you. Not sure about the stars, I guess someone tried to recreate the Cafe in Casablanca from the movie some years back. Apparently it didn't go over too well. No surprise I guess, it's not the 1930's anymore.

Smashing job, very original and creative.

Did you have to do any setup work at all on the neck / frets?

Is adding threaded inserts something you always do for necks? I guess it gives a more permanent and consistent connection, especially if the neck comes on and off a few times?

Thank you.
So far the neck has been pretty good as it came, but I really haven't had a chance to go over it extensively. This was the first neck that I've done the inserts on. I did it mainly to allow repeated neck removal, but I think it does add some benefits from a more solid connection. Hard to tell if it affects tone as I have never used a bloodwood neck before and it adds it's own tonal characteristics. Installing them wasn't too bad, but I had the benefit of machining experience and the proper equipment. Getting them lined up on center with the existing pilot holes and keeping them vertically true is the main requirement.
