32" scale Jazz Bass..On its way!..Updated w/pics...

Hi All,
Today UPS delivered my Warmoth parts order (463 bridge, 7/8 input jack, retainer bar and neckplate pad & screws)...At the same time I was opening up my box, I received my UPS Quantum View shipping notice for my short scale raw Black Korina Jazz body(rear rout) that I just ordered on Oct 7th. (scheduled for delivery on Oct 28th) That seems fast from the body builder section. I thought it would take 5 weeks. :glasses9:
I didn't opt for the unique choice but I did put a request in the notes for a unique striking grain. I am hoping that I will be pleasantly surprised.  I ordered my Raw 32" Gancalo/Gancalo Warhead neck on Oct 8th so that should be coming soon also  :icon_biggrin:

I have all the hardware for it now except for my Aguilar OBP-2 preamp and that should be here next week. Nordstrand NJ4's, Hipshot ultralights, Schaller 463 bridge, Schaller strap locks, custom neckplate from Doug, Aluminum speed knobs, Electrosocket jack and Hipshot string retainer (not sure if I will use the bar or the Hipshot retainer)

This will be my first Warmoth build and I am extremely excited  :guitaristgif:

Nice. I see you've got one of Doug's neckplates. I love bass guitars. I have one, a 30.75" scale Hagstrom and it's a joy to play. If I played more bass, I'd certainly consider building a Warmoth, but I've got way more GAS for cymbals, drum paraphernalia and guitars. :icon_biggrin:

Doug did a great job on my neckplate :icon_thumright:..I for sure will post pics of the body friday night after I receive it.

Yup, I will post a sound clip up after a finish her up.. I'm hoping that the combo of woods mixed with the Nordstrands and Aguilar preamp will sound good.  :glasses9:

I had the Hipshot string retainer that I was gonna use on a prior project. I wasn't aware that style of 2 string retainer was usually for a fiver. Thanks for the info  :glasses10:
I'd prefer to use the Bar retainer that I received from Warmoth today. Since I had the Hipshot I threw it in the photo just incase I had decided to use that one instead.

My short scale Jazz body showed up today :hello2:
Was a little nervous opening up the box but was extremely relieved and happy when I saw what was inside. 2 piece body and a grain that I am more than pleased with. I cant wait to see the grain when I start the Tung Oil process. Stopped at Rockler today to pick up some of their Tung Oil. Just want a nice satin sheen to it so I wont be putting to many coats on it. I want to be able to wax it like my old Warwick Basses that I have owned in the past.

My Gancalo neck and OBP-2 preamp should be here in a week or so  :icon_thumright:

Thank you!  No top wood, just a simple order. That's why I was a little nervous when I was opening the box. Just a 2 piece body.  I asked for a striking grain in the notes and they delivered  :cool01:
