Flamed maple was all the listing said - this was a show case body. They evidently used black and brown dye to create the coloring.Kublai said:What finish is that? Looks great.

They have a very nice slightly beveled finish. I have a fret rocker from Stewmac, and they are perfectly level - wonderful neck for the price!back2thefutre said:Did you order your fret ends straight up, no bevel?

Well, that the 'quiltiest' Flamed Maple I have seen!
As DbU has stated it looks like a"Tigers Eye" dye finish. Nice finish, aren't they? (I have one)
Original post was wrong, Warmoth calls this "Tigers Eye Maple". I was so excited when I opened the box, I took pictures and posted them right away (nothing like guitar porn), and inadvertently posted an incorrect finish description. I just couldn't believe this was a Warmoth "showcase" body.
Just going with the std. single coils for this one, you do have the swimming pool rout to use any sort of combo of pickups....
Good to hear! I received an over beveled neck recently. Sent it back, haven't ordered another for fear of getting another.stubhead said:The over-beveled meme hasn't come up for a year or so - I suspect Warmoth reads this forum, or they fired Eugene the Mad Beveler or something.
