12 string build

Normally, I'd agree about the rings, and still almost do. But... setting the rings into the pickguard might actually look kinda cool in a funky way. Hmmm. Still curious about what you're planning to put in them.

Progress.  I still need to smooth the pick guard.  You can see the opps moment where I dropped the wrench.

Almost done.

I am so happy with the results.  Plays like a dream.  Wow it took forever to string and get the neck straight.  The  micro adjustment works great but initial set up stinks.  My next build will have a channel so the neck will not have to be removed for adjustment.

That's really a fine piece of work! You should be proud! Just in time for the GOM, too!

Yessir indeedy that right thr is a fine Axe. You can say that twice (an octave up the 2nd time)

Neato! The sparkle finish & side stripe make it look very Danelectro-esque!  Kewl!

Exactly what I was thinking too. Very nice piece and definitely something unique. Congrats on how it turned out.

DMRACO, it occurs to me that all your GOTM wins are your own work to a greater extent than many other winners - you did your finishing on all of them, and cut out your own bodies for two.  I am very much an admirer of your creativity and handiwork.

Thank Bagman.  That means a lot.  The Wolfgang was a REAL challenge since that was a single block of uncut wood.  UGH.  I do not know if I will every try that again.  The bass I did from the 100 year only pine was cool too but that was a little easier because there was no lam top.  No Warmoth content on that.

The others were simply modded bodies where I changed a few items.  However I really enjoy the finish work.  Its like therapy for me.

I also have never tackled building a neck from scratch.  That scares me a bit too.

The one guitar that I have never won with was the one I have with a WARMOTH finish.  Its awesome too but just does not stand out I guess.

Even the best chefs generally don't raise their own cattle and poultry.
