I think I am going to take the safe road and take my guitar down to the local shop and have them wire it. I would much rather have it done right than me to ruin it more and more. Thanks for the tips guys. It was a good learning experience. On my next build I will have to attempt this again.

You got that right. If I was still in Galveston nothing short of a police "escort" would get me out of the water. It hasnt been that long since there were waves there. A week before I left for school there were some good 4-5 footers pumping out off the seawall.

Yea, I just left Galveston to come back up to school in Lubbock a few weeks ago. My family might be heading this way very soon to avoid that storm.
