    I'm not saying I'm a gold digger...

Hey! Those are GREAT covers!!! LOL!  :laughing7: The humbucker size and the mini both have the same size coil. Yes, those are Alnico 5 magnets which are also the same magnets used in the Vista Tone pickup.

    Custom neckplate

Doug did a fantastic job on those covers. When I needed some prototyping done I knew exactly who to ask. He has been keeping the secret quiet for a really long time too. If you need some machining done, Doug is the MAN!  :yourock: Thanks Doug! You and I are now part of history!  :icon_thumright:

    Single pickup placement

Submitted for your consideration..... The placement of the pickup will give the pickup it's tone. That is, the pickup is "translating" what it senses. If it's strings doing a "big" vibration as in the neck position or "small" vibrations in the bridge position. The strings vibrate less at the...

How to keep nickel humbuckers polished?

A soft cloth with rubbing alcohol will clean them very well. It is what I use to clean them up from finger prints and such. If you want to put a little car wax on them this will help keep them clean for quite a while. I use old soft t-shirts to polish up covers.

    Wiring lengths, Tone cap questions

What Fat Pete said. It's shorting out. The wire lengths used to wire the controls is insignificant. Consider that each pickup has over a mile of wire of a very small gauge. The wire used to complete the controls is large and short by comparison. Very little resistance or capacitance. I love...

    Post what you're listening to!

Thanks Bagman. I totally understand this statement. It sounds that way to me too. I can take it in certain doses. I also feel that way about certain singers. One song good, two or three songs ok, an album... no thanks. I still enjoy them though. Not Tuck though. Send it in! I love Leo...

    Tuning Machine Buttons

Good question. It all depends on the shaft shape. Some are flatted rounds, hex or square. What shape are the Grover shaft holes? There doesn't seem to be much information on the shaft compatibility. I am about to undertake the same type of transplant but with tort (plastic) buttons so I am...

    NAMM invite

Who sir? Me sir? No sir. Not I sir! I did not play their amps. They and Koll are friends. It was very very noisy down there though. I saw a lot of " just because you can, doesn't mean you should". I don't think you could lose one of those pics at night in a coal mine. They really stood out...

    NAMM invite

I was standing right there @ Satellite amps thinking "that guy over there at Gravity picks looks familiar".. Now I know why. I did run into Skuttle Funk and chatted briefly. Hope you had a great show. It's nice to be back in the peace a quiet.

    He-he, Trem lock

It's a good "hack" a.k.a. problem solving. Maybe a spring to backup the bolt would help keep it from rattling. @Chritopher G.. Evil Dead fan?
