    Finally Finished

that is my guitar yes but that isn't me. Matt is someone I follow on YouTube and support on Patreon. I made the body and bought the neck. I sent the body off to Matt and had him do the fabric top. once he was done he sent it back and I did the final build and set up. if anyone is interested in...

I most definitely started with the flower in the upper bout....the one below the bridge that was just a very lucky accident. I did however cheat the bridge as far up as I could in order to reveal that flower and still maintain intonation.

The fabric is just glued on with titebond. Clear coat is SimTec Sealer. Once glue dries and you put the sealer on it has a fiberglass like texture and you can sand cut or route just as you would regular wood. Ken

Latest guitar build. Built the body from scratch and used warmoth neck. Covered with the funkiest fabric I could find and cleared over it. I think this is my favorite one so far. I can post more pics later as this is the only decent one

Need top screwdriver recommendations, both mini and regular

it may seem like overkill but I have NEVER replaced any of my snap-on screwdrivers. you don't need to by a entire set just a few of your most used sizes. expect to pay about $150 for 4 or 5 screwdrivers but believe me you will lose them before you need to replace them.

I have no idea how it sounds yet I have to get it set up. I bought the blizzard of 59' pickups from BYOG so we see how it goes. I will post sound clips when done.

    making progress on first build

Sure. It was a lot of work but not really that hard. 1. First I started with rough sawn 2" Mahogany and 1" Wenge. My finished body was to be 1.75". 2. My finished guitar blank was to be 14x20 so I cut two pieces of each wood at about 25". I found out real quick that if you try to flatten 6'...

You beat me to it. That was my plan after seeing how thin it is. It is about 3/4 of an inch but better safe than sorry

    making progress on first build

The wood is African mahogany with an 1/4" Wenge top. For the top I bought 4/4 rough sawn Wenge and re-sawed it to make book-matched top. The body is 8/4 the I planed down and made a two piece body with. It is going to be bound with "abalone" binding. As for the sound holes I just wanted...

As the title says. I haven't had a lot of time to work on this so it has taken some time. I bought all my lumber rough sawn so it took a little time just to get it dimensionalized. after that had to plane it down and glue it up. It is all down hill from here though.

    Cut My First Body

yup it is bamboo. I have a bunch of solid bamboo flooring and nothing to do with it. as for the slot....thats what happens when you get excited to make your first cut and forget to check your tool dept. but since this isn't the real thing no big deal. Doug I am working on 3d now going to be...
