You could flip the magnet in the neck pickup and then wire it backwards. Ordinarily, wiring it backwards would put it out of phase. But by flipping the magnet you put it back in phase. Then the two slug coils will be hum cancelling.
Incidentally, when you are playing with both combined, are you...
I have seen Katy live 6 times and have tickets for a seventh so don't even try to out-fan me there.
As for what's not to like: well I watched a few bits of the live stream she did recently and while her heart's very clearly in the right place, I don't think I'd enjoy hanging out with her...
It's a horrible outfit, I agree. Her costume designer has done some absolutely brilliant work in the past and this is a bit of a dropped ball.
Looks like it fits OK though.
Well, thanks to Madonna, female pop stars are expected to completely reinvent themselves with each new album. The first two pictures are from her first album where she was more guitar-focused and "girl next door". She's done a few different things for the albums since then, and for this album...

Seymour Duncan Custom Shop.

The neck and middle pickups are based on the Psychedelic Strat set, which is a late 60s style set. Think Fender CS69.
The bridge pickup...
I know this is absolutely not what you asked, but have you considered using a Fender S-1 switch? Looks like this:
You press on top of the pot and it stays in a bit, press it again and it pops out. I used one quite recently for exactly the same purpose - tapping a Tele bridge pickup. Worked...
