dilemma / hum cancelling problem

So the trouble is I'm considering putting Seymour Duncan 59/custom hybrids into the bridge AND neck of my upcoming build.. but since they'll both be bridge pickups the slug and screw coils will be wound in the same direction and not hum cancelling together, for the inner and outer coils which i plan to use

Would it be possible to order this pickup with double reverse wind as a shop floor custom from Seymour Duncan?

Also the bridge will be a trembucker

Fwiw i joined their forum but am in an activation queue...  :-\

Seymour Duncan makes 59 Neck and Bridge pickups in addition to the Trembucker version.

Pick the trembucker and neck versions.

Oh, this one.

Or its trembucker version

As it says its best to pair it with a 59 neck or a Jazz neck.

yes but chances are since they are both bridge pickups and essentially the same bar the spacing the coils are likely wound in the same direction, so if i install them with the screw coils facing outwards, splitting to the 2 screw coils or two slug coils will have the same rotational direction :ie NOT HUM CANCELLING

You could flip the magnet in the neck pickup and then wire it backwards. Ordinarily, wiring it backwards would put it out of phase. But by flipping the magnet you put it back in phase. Then the two slug coils will be hum cancelling.

Incidentally, when you are playing with both combined, are you sure you want both 59 coils or both custom coils? Wouldn't you rather have one of each to keep the Custom/59 sound?

Hey I've just discovered all the coils in Seymour Duncans are wound in the same direction, and if i put both sluggies facing the neck or the same direction then one of the inner/outer combinations would have a louder neck pickup coil. Which, as everybody knows causes a rip in the space time continuum, cause cancer in baby dolphins, and generally make kids in the third world unhappy.
In that specific order.

What I was saying was get your custom coil for the bridge and then use either a 59 neck or Jazz neck in the neck. That is the recommended pairing. It seems to me trying to use a second bridge pickup you would be just making it more complicated than it needs to be.
