Hi, On my rear cavity V-R I am putting a decorative control panel on top (Like a Jackson RR-1) but it seems even without the .125"  control plate the pot shafts are not coming through the top with enough threads to put the knobs on.  There seems to be little metal nubs on the pots (maybe .125")...

Does anyone know what size the humbucker rings need to be for a V-R build?  I am having some custom built but he seems confused by the numbers I give him which are the cavity size?  Not sure what he wants for sure.  I measured the cavity  size to be 2 7/8 x 1.625.  So what total outside...
