I keep hearing that the lighter fluid stuff has stuff added to it in CA though.  :sad: :dontknow: I tell you, with all the bans in CA, gangs don't even need to sell drugs or guns to make money.  All they need are a huge supply of NOS lightbulbs, naphtha, normal flow toilets, fireworks, etc...

Apparently you can no longer get naphtha or mineral spirits in CA, and the acetone they sell here has extra crap in it.  What do I use to clean my Tele body before finishing if I can't get that stuff?  I have some older lacquer thinner that is pre-nanny state ban, would that work?

Alright, the neck and most of the body hardware has been ordered.  I went with a roasted maple/rosewood combo, nothing super fancy.  I did get SS frets though because I love those and I'm going to try an SRV contour this time. 

I think I'm going to get one for the Tele I'm working on.

The stuff we used was a powder dye that you mix with water.  I can't remember the company name now.  We got it at the hardwood store. 

Thanks guys!  Yeah, unfortunately the color difference is there because that's the wood we had in the shop.  I can live with it though, this is just a fun learning project.  We're going to order a neck.  I'm thinking roasted maple and rosewood, nothing super fancy.
