I've heard/played a guitar with the virtual vintage solo pro (standard strat) and it sounded great. Really crisp and defined, with no hum. Perfect single coil output. I'd highly recommend it.
My friend is quitting guitar (apparently he has no inspiration :dontknow:), but he gave me one of his projects to work on. Its an old eighties red Epiphone strat style guitar with the kws headstock and an hsh routing. I have just the body and neck right now, with tuners/nut installed. ...
What do you all think of the red/silver/blue set? Or any other sets by lace that sound good. I was originally going to go with the dave gilmour emgs, but I don't want a battery to worry about. These were my next choice. Anyone have experience with these?
I just put the first coat of tung oil on my brand new walnut strat today, but I don't know how long to wait in between coats. I live in Utah, so its really dry up here. Any suggestions/experiences?
I'll put pictures up of my finished strat when its done - hollow walnut body with a wenge/ebony...
Could Warmoth offer these systems/routing for them? I haven't heard/played the vg strat yet, but I'm intrigued by the idea of changing tunings with a knob.
My new neck came today! I was stunned when I opened the box - I couldn't ask for more. My camera isn't working right now, I should have pics up later. Thank you warmoth!
The Wenge is figured in some parts - it looks amazing
If you want the van halen sound, you should get a hard ash body. It would be heavy, but the tone would kill. Eddie used ash on his frankenstein guitar.
not necessarily - as far as I can tell the bodies in the showcase go for about what you'd pay for them custom ordered. However, it might be just a little bit more money, and you'd have to wait longer.
What wood?
Alright - either this one - http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_bodies.cfm?type=guitar&start=1&itemNumber=S1522&menuItem=1&subMenuItem=0&subMenuItem2=0
Or this one -...

they are essentially improved American fender tremolos. I'm putting one on my upcoming guitar. Thought some of you guys might like them
I'm ready to start my first warmoth build - I'm going with a wenge/ebony neck with stainless steel frets, but I'm not so sure about the body wood. I don't know whether to go for Walnut or Black Korina (hollowbody strat). Any suggestions?
I'm looking for a strat-ish sound, but a little warmer...
