    '50 Esquire Build Starts

I'm a big fan of the color combo.  Super sharp.

    A Question for Cagey

I had sent an email to Warmoth, and that is prett much what Spike said in his reply Bagman67.  I just got done with the set-up an intonation, and with the saddles in their final position I was actually able to lower the saddles a bit.  Comparing it to a Fender Strat I have with a 6 point trem...

    A Question for Cagey

I genuinely appreciate the help.  I understand that if I place a shim in a way that would lower the headstock it will increase the distance from the strings to the fretboard over the length of most of the neck, but at the heel end of the neck it's going to raise the neck by the thickness of the...

    A Question for Cagey

Thanks Cagey.  I have concerns that using a shim to angle the neck won't fix the problem along the entire neck and I would still potentially have clearance issues on one end of the neck. I need the neck to go down, and worry that adding the thickness of a shim is only going to make it worse...

    A Question for Cagey

Cagey, I am asking you specifically because I saw a thread where you dealt with this same problem back in 2010 or so. I have a Warmoth hardtail Strat body and a Warmoth neck.  I ordered the body set up for vintage Strat with vintage Strat string spacing.  I ordered the only Hipshot hardtail...

    My new first time Warmoth

Beautiful! Everything looks very thought out and it works very well together.

    Organge Strat Start

I hadn't seen the copper colored hardware. That's pretty sharp. I already have the chrome hipshot bridge and staggered tuners for this one, but that could be cool for a future build.\ Coloring copper is fun.  Muratic acid can get some great colors on copper.  Torching it and then putting clear...

The MULLY Telecaster is Ready for Action!!

That is a beautiful guitar.  Timeless beauty that will never go out of style. Sounds great too.

    Organge Strat Start

That looks really sharp Cagey!  The neck I am using is very light colored maple, and the fretboard is  almost white.  If I would have gone with black hardware I think I would have made a brushed aluminum pick guard for it.  I thought about making one  out of copper, but not sure it would look...

    Organge Strat Start

Thanks Rgand.  It's taken a bit of effort to get the finish even.  A few more hours and it should hopefully be ready for clear. Any suggestions for pick guard color?  I'm somewhat torn between aged cream and parchment.  The hardware is all chrome.

    Organge Strat Start

I originally planned to do this Warmoth body in alpine white or another fairly bright white. I have a finishing booth, pro HVLP system, etc. Laying down a nice paint job and clear isn't a problem or much of a challenge for me, and I started feeling like something different. I've been liking the...

    Packages from Warmoth today.

We should meet up for a beverage some time.  My wife and I just got back from the blues festival in Coeur d'Alene.  Great event.

    1x12 cabinet build

I have always gotten a chuckle out of the corksniffers moniker.  It certainly does fit some of those folks at TGP.  The size of some of their pedal boards is almost beyond comprehension.  My wife and I went to a BB King tribute in Seattle last week. The main guitar player, Tim Sherman, has...

    1x12 cabinet build

That's what I was thinking Mayfly.  I think even 1/2" ply with good cleats would work, though I believe 3/4 is probably more common.  There is such a variety of laminate available now, everything from a brushed metal look to about any color imaginable.  My kids and I race autocross. A product...
