I've given it a couple of coats of lacquer to protect the ink and reassembled. The Variax has been in ieces for so long I'd forgotten how good some of the settings are. I don't think the vinyl would be hardy enough for stage use but it's fine for home recording & noodling.

As in my other thread, my scratch builds are on hold as I had a significant allergic reaction. So I'm reassembling my Variax with a vinyl wrap. I bought some sticky vinyl inkjet paper, printed out my avatar and voila -

I've had a significant allergy to some wood dust so my scratch building is on hold at the moment. I always wanted a Daphne Blue Strat relic but have ordered this Precision body to go with my Jazz neck and active EQ electronics - It will have a red pearl pickguard, so a bit like this combo...
