They're very nicely engraved guitar neck plates though, don't knock 'em... ;)

Aside from SS frets and a very definite preference for the Clapton profile (of the 3 I've tried), everything else is pretty much up for grabs.

I've actually got no intention of using a normal JM bridge. If you check that Tele-Gib link above, you'll see it has a TOM bridge on it, though I'm going to go with the Gotoh 501, wrap-around style. The body also has the forearm and tummy cutaway. So I get a solid bridge and a comfortable...

Actually, I do really want Jazzmaster pickups on a Tele body, and not P90's. I really like the sound Gavin Rossdale gets on 'Golden State', and as the Tele and Jazzmaster share scale length, I thought it would make an interesting variation, as I'm not keen on the Jazzmaster body shape. It might...

At the moment, I'm thinking I could order a body from W, minus the pickup routs, then do rest of the job myself. I've got all the tools I'd need, even if I end up needing to create the templates too.

Yeah, I didn't notice the chasm between the bridge and the back pick-up when I looked at it first - perhaps not a professional job. I'd like to think Warmoth could do a much better job - hint, hint...

I had no idea there was that much hand detailing/finishing involved. The contoured heel looked like it was just being sanded though, I guess the bulk of the material it remove on some other process that isn't shown.

I would never buy a body that has the wiring hole between the pickup and control routs missing. And even if I did, I wouldn't attempt to rectify the situation myself, much less actually drill straight out the back of it. That would never do, no, no, no...

I'm fine Doug. I see the neck plate thread is still going strong. My collection is still growing (now 20 items), but I've not done a build in a while - I have something in mind though, hence the question. I spend a lot of my time these days on the SD forum, so I see Orpheo from time to time...
