    Drop horn telecaster

I got a telecaster body and am interested in modifying it to a drop-horn tele. I plan to use a coping saw to get the original shape, a rasp and sander to smooth it out and a Dremel with a table router attachment to rout the rounded edges. I don't have any router bits and don't want to go to the...

Fixing mistakes another person made on Warmoth neck

I think you're probably right on all accounts. I paid $450 for this thing, and the body specs out at over $530, the neck at over $500, it has SD Pearly Gates, a Mojo Tone wiring harness, etc. All in, this dude sunk $1,500 into this project. I got it for a steal. I just took a cloth with some...

Where to put the strap buttons on a diamonback body so no neck dive happens?

Unfortunately this guitar is already finished (from Warmoth, satin) and I think gaffer's tape would permanently mar the finish. Do you think otherwise? Any tips for taping it while protecting the finish?

    Pickguard on Diamondback

I would greatly appreciate the PDF, and thanks for the link. I'll use yours as a starting point. I'll have to knock out space for the mounting rings. I may actually just print yours, trace the mounting rings on the sheet and scan it.

Where to put the strap buttons on a diamonback body so no neck dive happens?

That's especially helpful, as I use Schaller's on all my guitars.

Fixing mistakes another person made on Warmoth neck

I bought a guitar with a Vortex neck on it. I was able to get the finished guitar with a Vortex neck, Diamondback body, and Duncans for $450, and this neck would cost $510 as spec'ed. It's bound in white. The scarf joint looks terrible. Had I bought this directly from Warmoth, I would try to...

    Pickguard on Diamondback

Pickguard Planet has this pickguard available for the ESP Viper. I contacted them and they have never done a pickguard for a Warmoth Diamondback and do not know if the ESP Viper one will fit. This is close enough to the design of the one I would want. I don't have the necessary tools to bevel...

Where to put the strap buttons on a diamonback body so no neck dive happens?

Resurrecting this threat instead of starting a new one. I don't want to use the neckplate method or screw into the end of the body as @NedRyerson suggests above. I've seen some ESP Vipers that place the strap button here. I tested the location by pinching the body only at this point, and it...
