I'm amazed. I played it in guitar center yesterday, and it was so cool. The pickups naturally sucked, but the feel, sustain, and craftsmanship were amazing, especially for $90.

It can be surprising how good some cheaper guitars can be these days. Especially anything coming out of Korea; they're on par with Japan now. China and Indoensia are still a little behind, but they're catching up quickly.

...and it has a wooden fingerboard, unlike the $5,000 Les Paul Customs!  :occasion14:

Anyone notice? It has a bolt-on neck!

So did Herman, but he was cool...

Indonesia is not behind. They produce awesome guitars. Even the Chinese are producing some very decent guitars (although I'm not interested in any guitars made in China).

Vietnam, not so much.

I bought this Epi at the GC last year for $300.  The trem sucks, but otherwise a surprisingly quality instrument.  Decent flame and finish.  I pulled the stock pups and put some Seymour Duncans in ther and it sounds great.  Someday, I will replace the trem, but all of my cash right now is going into the Tele.  Anyway, here's the pic:

Should'a gotten a TOM-STP.

I played everything from Fender Custom Shop down to a Squire Bullet Strat last week in one of the bigger stores in town. The Bullet strat was the only one that  left me with GAS. Great neck, great fret work (rolled edges, unlike the USA Fender stuff). $189.99 bucks  :glasses9:

The electrics would be crap, but the feel of a guitar in my hands is what matters. The rest can be replaced or tweaked.

Yeah, I would've, but this one was so pretty. All the top tails we're plain.  It's like a hot chick with stinky feet.  Some things you just gotta over look.  :toothy10:

what the hell is wrong with a floyd?.....Ohhhh, don't get me started...

That made that guitar the proper way. All guitars should have Floyds, or some other floating trem system.

Floyds are just as stable as any other bridge on the market.  I've never had a problem with any of my Floyd-equipped guitars not staying in tune.  The only disadvantage I've experienced between a Floyd-equipped guitar and a fixed-bridge guitar is when I've broken a string.

Given the intricate set-up process of a Floyd I can see why a lot of people don't care for them, but mine have always been trouble-free.

Exactly, I've got several guitars with fixed bridges and they are worse about staying in tune than my Floyds are. However it doesn't have an intricate set up, no more intricate than a standard fender trem..

I may get one of the epiphone les paul juniors in tv yellow next time it goes on sale. I could use neck and make it the LP junior I've always wanted, and use my 60's p90... These days I'd be proud to have Epiphone on my headstock. I would only use the neck, everything else would go into my parts drawer... but those are some parts for $90.
This is the wish:

Warmoth body, of course. I don't know if it's a standard neck, though...

Most of the people I know who have Strats don't even use the trem because it's so unstable.

I have two Floyds: the real deal on my JEM and the one pictured above (a cheap knock off).  I won't go as far as to say that the trem is as stable as the fixed bridges, but there is an enormous difference between the genuine and the knock off.  I wasn't trying to say that Floyds suck (clearly they do not) but the one on this guitar does.  All the profesional set up knowledge in the world cannot save a $30 Chinese trem.

Of course, all guitar bridges are welcome in my diverse and welcoming collection (:icon_jokercolor:), but the cheap ones suck.  You are better off tying your strings off on your strap button than hoping for crappy hardware to hold.  :icon_biggrin:

I was just telling my husband that I played one of these "Vintage Vibe" Tele Thinlines at a shop a few months ago.  It's a Squier, but a really, really nice axe for being a Squier.  It's amazing how good some of the cheapos are these days.

It makes me wonder how they do it.  They must sell so many that their profit margin allows them to put a little extra into them now where they just couldn't a few years ago.
