You have a CNC to carve the top, or another plan?

it's gonna be a flat top, no cnc needed. I have the usual tools at home. band saw, belt sander, drill press and a dremel for the small stuff. If i need something else ill just drive over to http://sawdustshop.com/ . i live about 10 min from these guys.

i didnt see any cnc's that cheap. $4500 was the cheapest...no way could i afford that. The Sawdust Shop has a CNC and a laser engraver that i could book time on but id have to learn Corel Draw...and probably buy a PC cause im a Macinosh user.

i looked at that thing on ebay....looks like a plunge router on a stick...sorta like the chalk holders in music class that could draw 5 lines at once for putting notation on a chalk board. something like this could be made for probably under $50 sans the plunge router.

those are very good for duplicating necks. first act uses something similar, (first act blows)

I think there is another ebay seller that offers the plans for a $200 duplicator for 25 bucks or so

that first act looks like a guitar company made by marketing schmucks. thay made theire showroom look like an Apple store. the people in the pics look like they dont even know how to play a musical instrument of any kind. LOL

why settle for a cheap immitation of the real deal? I have an industrial carver made by Terrco and similar to what you see in the image here

the cheap units have too much flex to hold accuracy when attempting to do anything beyond a slug's pace. they're around $1500 new plus accessories. great for some tasks, and a waste of time for others. mine was formerly owned by bass builder Chris Benevente
