Marco (This is probably a reference that only an American would get, but I'm curious did anyone outside of the USA play the Marco Polo game in the town pool or at the local swimming hole?)

We do play this game too up north in Canada... we're not so different after all ;)

No idea about the game if that is the reference, but you do know Marco Polo was an explorer and merchant from Venice?

Current word...

Marco Polo is a game which you are blinfolded in a pool trying to touch other people (kind of Tag game), by finding them by ear. You say "Marco" and others have to respond with "Polo" so you can find them.

But there's a trick, if you go under water you don't have to say Polo. So what you do is take a deep breath and then go underwater. So the tagees spend most of their time underwater. I guess it helps teach kids how to swim. There are similar games like Blind Man's Buff.

The word is: Brat
