Before I saw Bruce, I couldn't figure out what the fuss was with Springsteen. Then I saw him, and I saw him play a what looked like telecaster, never played an electric before, and I went down to Manny's in NYC and bought one. This 17 year old kid who only played his sisters acoustic became a fan, and then he saw the Ramones, then the Dead, then Blondie, then Patti Smith, the Talking Heads, and a bunch of others ... all were local bands, except for the dead but could've... interesting time.
