Wood Affect Color?

so getting ideas (as i always am) and loving the color orange as much as i do, i've been thinking about making an orange charvel-inspired guitar. ESPECIALLY after seeing how awesome the red charvel turned out! but i'm not decided on woods.

would using a dark body wood affect what the candy tangerine ended up looking like? if i used a poplar body would it be brighter than a walnut body? the obvious answer would be no, but without a primer i would think it would take a lot more paint to cover a darker body.

just curious! thanks everybody!

haha thats a reference to my guitar!!!!  :icon_jokercolor:

on topic. warmoth primes their guitars, so just go with warmoth. have the EVER let anyone down? Forget the romans, they're idiots

The base color for all candies is black so the wood color has no effect on the color of the candy finish.

ok cool! for some reason i had it in my head that warmoth didn't use primer  ???  sometimes i just make things up without any base or reason, so this is good to know!
