Appreciate your time. I have two pickups I'd like to put in y VIP. One is a Gibson Burstbucker , the other a Duncan Custom shop PAF type pickup. These pickups if installed normally would be out of phase.
The problem is both are two conductor vintage type with braided shield and hot wire. I have read where it is inadvisable to switch the the shield to be hot on one to make them phase correct.
That would not be a huge problem, to put a different 4 conductor where i can switch the two wires to make it in phase with one of the two conductor pickups, but would prefer to keep both pickups if it's not going to be n issue..
Whats the word on this? Thanks

EDIT- BASICALLY I FOUND OUT THAT IT ISN'T COOL TO USE THE SHEILD AS HOT WIRE- back to the old drawing board.
