Wipe on Poly?

My stewmax membership expired. The only thing I need in the foreseeable future from them is some wipe on poly colortone. Is the minwax water based stuff virtually the same?
I want to clearcoat basswood satin.

Yeah, I can't imagine the SM WOP being anything more special than run-of-the-mill hardware store WOP.

SM: $4.72/oz
Home Depot: $0.62/oz

The stewmac is water based which is a bit more costly than the regular home depot stuff, but your point still stands.
