Will there ever be a 35" j-bass neck?

I need a fiver for my homestudio, and since I've tried BEAD strings on my current Ibanez, I've noticed the B string is too loose.

Tried a Jackson X-series 5-string bass in a music store, and while the quality control was rubbish (bad fretwork and a tuner that was installed a bit rotated so it clashed with another tuner... hahaha!!!), the B-string felt better, probably because of 35" scale.

But deep down I want a J-bass style. The Warmoth fanboy inside me wants a Warmoth but the 34" scale limitation puts me off. I know Warmoth makes 35" Geckos, but its not the same for me.

So I've looked at Bacchus, Maruszczyk, Hammersmith among others, and they all make a snow white (super important for me  :icon_biggrin: ) j-bass with 35" scale length.

But the price ends up being basically the same on all as a Warmoth would be (except I could get stainless frets on the Warmoth for a nice and microscopic upcharge), and they all lack steel or graphite reinforcement, which makes me feel I might end up with a rubbery neck if I'm unlucky...
The Bacchus is cheaper, but they only come with chrome hardware so that has to be changed out anyway to black (to match the white finish and all that)

So... Will Warmoth offer some 35" options for 2017?  I would be so all over it  :hello2:

10 years later and I'm thinking the same thing. 5 strings need 1 or both of 2 things; a super rigid neck and a 35" scale neck. The Gecko just doesn't do it for me especially with the tilt back headstock. Their version of the 3+2 tuner layout is also kind of butt ugly (IMNSO). I think the 3+2 could be adapted to a Warhead type headstock. I think bassist have become a lot more sophisticated about the technical characteristics of the instrument but we've settled on 34" as the default as if it's supposed to work as well as 4 string. Nope. Here's what I want; 35" scale neck for J bass neck pocket, quarter sawn roasted maple, titanium truss rod, 3+2 tuner on straight headstock, Richlite fingerboard (Warmoth offer this now off menu), graphite reinforcing rods, Hipshot Ultralights. Here's my story on Richlite; I have a matched pair of Yamaha BBG5As. I decided to convert one to fretless. "Yank and Fill" wasn't going to be acceptable especially after playing a Zon Hyperbass. I steamed off the fretted rosewood board and made the replacement out of Richlite which is very stiff. The increase in clarity and sustain over the stock BBG5 was dramatic. No damping, no dead spots. Am I right in thinking modern bassists are ready for 35" P5/J5 necks or am I going to have to build it (and there will only be one) from scratch?
