Hi everyone,

New here and about to start my first tele build - still in the "deciding hardware" stage and learning.

Will the Wilkinson Fender-Style Nickel Tuners fit in the vintage tuner holes in the neck?

And will the Cutaway Wilkinson Compensated Tele Bridge work with the Standard Tele Top Rout on the body?

I've read so much I have information over load (over analyzed) and my google foo is horrible this morning. I appreciate any reply to these basic questions.

Using your descriptions, the top hits on both those parts lead to Guitar Fetish, who is notorious for being generous with the adjectives but miserly about any mechanical details. So, it's tough to say. The tuners? No clue. Their glowing description and endorsement notwithstanding, they look like beer can tuners and I wouldn't use them even if they paid me. The bridge? I'm led to believe it's dimensionally a direct Tele replacement, so I'd worry about that one less, at least as far as fitting is concerned. But, there again, they don't give you any details you could check against reality.

The Gotoh Tele bridges they sell at Warmoth are pretty nice, fit perfectly, and are priced well ($42 to $46, depending on the finish). Beat the snot out of the standard Tele bridge.

I used one on the last Tele I built, and am quite happy with it.

My only caveat would be that depending on your guitar's geometry, the saddle height adjustment screws may be too long. I bought a set of Graphtech String Savers to solve the problem, but a much simpler and dramatically less expensive solution is to just buy some properly sized set screws from someplace like this.

I don't care for most "vintage" stuff, and I don't buy based on aesthetics. I'm more interested in performance, reliability and usability. But, if that sort of thing appeals to you, it's my understanding that the Callaham parts are some of the better examples out there.
