I have a solid mahogany deluxe tele in route, never experienced wide range, if I go humbucker it will be either seth lover or pearly gates, how would i compare wr to the sl or pg?
WRHB as a vintage repro is a cool sound the DCR measures hotter than vintage PAF but the different construction of them makes them sound brighter than a PAF of lesser DCR. They are an interesting sound if you dont have it in your collection they are worth trying IMO.
WRHBs are their own thing. I love them, but they are quite distinct from PAF tones, as stated above. I captured clips of the Revel WRHBs in my Thinline Tele, they may give you an idea of what they are about:
The driving reason for this is PAF HB style pup uses a bar magnet under the poles and slugs. A WRHB the poles are the actual magnets. Totally different construction. We have even brought the different magnet alloys used then vs largely now.
Still watching the mail box, and thinking out loud, would Jimmy page wiring be usable with wrhb or mostly just a thing with darker hb, would I end up with too much jangle?

The phase and series aspects of the JP wiring would be valid, and you may or may not like the results. At a guess, I would expect two WRHBs in series to be more useful than two PAFs in series due to the WRHBs inherently brighter character. And you either like out-of-phase or you don’t… The coil splitting would probably not provide useful results due to the construction of the WRHBs: each coil “sees” all six strings but emphasizes three, so splitting them would probably result in a significant imbalance. My answer there is theoretical though, as I have not tried it…
