You must be near a pretty nice store that would stock Alembic and Conklin guitars!

Ha! Exactly what I was thinking.

Though I am no longer a fan of the crap Fender produces, failing Warmoth and all other customized builds, I would have to go with Fender.
An American Standard Strat, and either the Jaco Jazz bass or the Tony Franklin P bass.

I might also be inclined toward an Ibanez JEM (I'm not good on the model numbers with Ibanez, so whichever model is the regular white one that looks like EVO) so Ibanez would be #2.

No EBMM? I'm going to call the "other" option a MM Stingray 4 Fretless.

I believe Strats are very comfortable and sound really good. That's what I decided to build. That's my main guitar from here on out. Les Pauls are okay. But kinda heavy, and I like Fender tone more. I love many other guitars though.

Fender. I love the strat plain and simple

Jackson. Great USA made guitars

Charvel. Have you seen my guitar and what I mdeled it after?

For store bought assembled guitars:

Jackson (pre Fender)
Kramer (pre Gibson)
EBMM

For the do-it-yourself guitars I'm all over the place. Warmoth, KNE, ATC guitar works, Ebay, whatever it takes to build what I want... :icon_biggrin:

Hagström, Ibanez and... undecided. Looking for a good and versatile jazzy guitar right now, might go Hagström, Ibanez, Gretsch or Peerless which I've just discovered. Or if I have the cash, a stunning ES175 copy in natural clear by Greco that I know of. The GAS is strong for that one.

Fender: Some MIJ tele and strats ... and the John 5 Triple Tele(mex)

Ibanez: The Talman solidbodies - I've had four of those - with the lipstick pickups.

Other (Fernandes): I've had a RetroRocket, Revolver, Revolver 7, 2 Montereys, a Ravelle, a Burny - all sustainer equipped ... and their sustainer systems in a Casio MIDI and in a MusicYo Steinberger. Some day I'll put a Warmoth together with a sustainer system in as well.

Fender, cuz they're most easily modded due to pickguards and Warmoth.

G&L, cuz that's where Leo left off.

Rickenbacker, I own one but didn't choose them for their guitars.  I love the Ric basses.

Any company who gives A LOT of choices and they are doing incredible work. I can't afford those so it's only Warmoths for me.

Didnt Silvertone make aome great t00b amps built into guitar cases? :hello2: Anyway, I think silvertone is/was Danelectro wernt they?

LOL yeah I remember the old Sears catalog and seeing a strat-shaped Silvertone guitar with a little speaker in it.

I'm gonna go with Gibson, Schecter, and ESP.

Gibson, because it was my first (and probably will be my only) "high end" guitar.  I really love it, and I haven't had any problems with it.  Plays great.
Schecter, because they have great value for the money, and make some nice looking and playing guitars.
ESP, because they are very similar to Schecter, and offer artist models in both high end, and value lines.

+1 to ESP for guitars.  Not the LTD's, though.

If we are to include bass guitars in this thread ... Tobias and Warwick make some of the best ones I've ever played.  However, there will be a Warmoth Jazz 5 in my future at some point ... not enough $$$ to support a case of GAS.

Well I voted Fender,Taylor, and PRS. I played the new new Taylor electric Koa body. Oh my goodness. that's one of the most MAGICAL things I've ever heard. I asked the guy if I could buy their pickups. And he told me nobody can buy them.

I almost bought one of those a few years ago!  Those things are cool.  I don't think Dano and Silvertone are the same thing though.

Outside of my Taylor acoustic, I haven't bought a guitar or bass from a store in at least five years.  It is much easier and rewarding to build my own.  I plan on sticking with build your own for a long time.
