what would be your DREAM rig ?

im not sure if that this is correct, ithought angus young used wizard amps... maybe he started after that was made

i'd like josh hommes rig, i don't know what it consists of but do know i want it

I have my dream rig.  A Peavey JSX 212 combo with a Boss GT-10 wired with the 4 cable method.  To be my true dream rig, the JSX would be a full stack, but then again, I don't play out anymore.  I get all the tone I need from my current rig.

I don't play bass, but I'd love this rig of rotisserie cookers. I wonder if the mic picks up the sizzle :laughing7:

Yep that boy has a sense of humor.  Previous tour it was washing machines.  It resolved that age old touring dilemma:  when can I get my laundry done? :)

Well you need the info for the HenHouse.

Yeah he gets a really cool sound.  I believe he uses 70's Ampeg VT40s and VT22s, primarily.  He plays through like five different amps at the same time.  And he plays one of these: http://www.junkguitars.com/stories/ovation.html

A Mesa Boogie Road King Stack in their "White Hot Bronco Vinyl" with a whole lot of pedals....

Josh Homme is actually quite secretive about his rig, he was once quoted as saying something along the lines of " I worked twenty years getting this sound, why would I just hand it over to some schmo'".  I do know that there are Mesa Boogie's involved and possibly an old Sunn bass amp.  Trying to get a sound just like someone else's has never been a personal objective for me, though.  I try really hard to sound unlike a lot of folks though.

At least 4 more G4's with EMG 35DC pickups and Schaller bridges.

Planet Waves cables: http://www.planetwaves.com

Line 6 Bass Pod xt: http://www.line6.com I use the Ampeg patch for my clean and distorted tone and the Dual Showman patch for my light overdrive/light midboost tone, as well as a patch based on a SansAmp for overdrdrive/distortion and one based on a boss octave for that.
I have a ibanez acoustic as well and I plan on getting cheap Epiphone LP for demo recording as well as a POD Studio GX (it seems as if they'll never ever
I may some day get a SansAmp Bass Driver DI Programmable (http://www.tech21nyc.com/bassdriver_p.html) and a Boss Octave pedal for gigs where I can't take the Ashdown head.

That thing looks pretty nice, but thumbs down on the proprietary footswitch and no MIDI.  I wonder how it sounds

I've tried it and I like the sound of it. Nice preamp overdrive and compression.
What's so bad about the footswitch thing?

I think there's a point of diminishing returns...after about $2 to 3K, the tone / sound just doesn't get better at any higher price. It's image after that...
Dream rig? I have mine. Haven't heard anything that sounds decidedly better, or is more reliable, or as versatile, at any price.
All I could want is spares, or more of everything!

for some reason it's like when you go into the cockpit of a airplane.

Now you need you ask, do you really know what ALL the buttons do?

I think I could find most of the power switches.

Sure you could, as long as you have at least 1 cab per power amp.  I'm sure it would sound like utter shit.
