What does this push/pull do?

What does the push/pull do in this diagram?  Phase?  Serial/parallel?

Kicks the "stacked" Tele pickups in/out of turbo, i.e., higher output power mode.

No, it will split the coils when you pull up. So up=single coils, down=humbuckers.

That'd be fun to wire in an EMG PA2 to the top poles...so that you get a gain boost when you go to humbucking too. I think then you could call it turbo =P
