What do I do now?

Hey guys,

I just put the first coat of water-based poly on my guitar's body (with a brush). Although I tried to make the coat as thin as pobbile, I got some runners, so what do I do now?

(sorry, I'm all new to this and read so many things... Don't know what to do when anymore :))

Thanks!

David.

Let it dry completely.  Then let it dry some more just to be sure its really dry.  Then IF they're still visible, carefully level them, and keep going.  Be sure to use a sanding block for the leveling.  Try a rather medium/fine paper to level with - say 400 grit.

Thanks CB,

I guess I'll let it be till after the weekend, or do you suggest to wait longer? (waiting so long after each coat will make it a painstakingly slow proces right :)).
Also won't the roughness of the sanding show through additional layers?

Thanks again! (wouldn't know what to do without this board).

Hard to tell how long to wait; depends on how thick the run is. If you attempt to sand it back before it's all the way dry it may gum up and pull up some of the surrounding finish layer, err on the side of caution.
